She did an amazing job in 12 Monkeys too with her version of "Just You and Your Hand Tonight" a Pink song where she was back in WWII Germany to distract Nazi's. Funny instrumentation with an old style accordian. Too bad they keep removing it from UA-cam. I used to watch it over and over.

Eliza Minelli eat your heart out. 💖 Unpopular opinion, she was only casted becoz of her name and connections. She's had some great roles, Sally wasn't one. But, Emily Hampshire a struggling actress from Canada, eventually gets her break. To come around and play Stevie in Schitt's Creek, a quiet reserved shy woman who goes to play Sally Bowles, a young shy introverted girl and struggling actress trying to catch her break. Everything about this was simply outstanding. This is why I love it so much. I would love to see Emily on the West End as Sally Bowles, the role was made for her. 💖😊

I think the other facet of this is that most women have the ability to create life, which is inherently the most powerful thing in the world, and men, unable to grapple with this lack of power, create war and destruction and try to control us. Obviously this is very general and binary, but I think this is the root of misogyny. Despite most major gods of creation being referred to as masculine throughout religions, men can't actually grow life inside of themselves, so they just destroy instead.

Walking home isn't just walking home-it's like an impromptu stealth mission, keys between fingers, ready for anything. 🕵‍♀ We tell ourselves stories to hide our inferiority, but this is the unfiltered truth. 💔

the way Moira sees a younger her passionate about musical theatre and acting in Stevie, its just so emotional.

I can't count the number of times I've seen this scene, and I still get literal goosebumps every time.

Just re-watching this whole series - and I have to admit, 'Stevie' NAILS this performance! 🤩 IMHO: This is better than Liza Minnelli... Yeah, I said it, yet seriously, watch this, then watch Liza's performance. Emily Hampshire blows Liza out of the water! #Love 😍

Love is awful. It's awful, It's painful, It's frightening. Makes you doubt yourself, judge yourself. Distance yourself from the other people in your life. Makes you selfish, makes you creepy,makes you obsessed with your hair, makes you cruel, makes you say and do things you never thought you would do. It's all any of us want, and It's hell when we get there. So no wonder It's something we don' want to do on our own. I was taught, if we're born with love. Then life is about choosing the right place to put it. People talk about that a lot, it feeling right. "When it feels right, It's easy." But I'm not sure that's true. It takes strength to know what's right. And love isn't something that weak people do. Being a romantic takes a hell of a lot of hope. I think what they mean is when you find somebody that you love, it feels like hope.

The best part about this whole moment is Stevie seeing herself for the first the way those around her saw her, realizing that everyone already knew that she was awesome.

One minute I'm watching a sitcom with outrageous characters who I'm not invested in, the next I'm sobbing at Stevie singing and being called cool. This show creeps up on you ❤
